Eli Derby is an artist caught between the version of himself that can walk up to anyone and the version that can't stop thinking about the one time he didn't. The entire visual identity of “Love Shy” is built to hold that contradiction. Never fully "smooth R&B heartthrob," never fully "sad boy”. That tension is the album.
